Alcoutim is a pretty hillside village nestled along the banks of the Guadiana river on the border with Spain. It used to be a mining village and became an important settlement. The village is very historical with a beautiful church and the remains of two castles, one on either side of the river. Property for sale in Alcoutim mainly consists of beautifully restored two bedroom houses either on the banks of the river or within the town and have been lovingly modernised to the highest standards.

Alcoutim is a typical Algarvean village with cobbled streets and lovely squares. Along the river front is a promenade with cafés and restaurants where you can watch the boats sailing along the river.
