Lagos, on Portugal’s beautiful Western Algarve coast has always had its history related to the sea, culminating in the Portuguese Discoveries when it became the main shipyard and a meeting point between international routes. Five hundred years later, it has staked its tourism activity on a rich historical past that covered it in churches, forts and impressive walls.

The modern Lagos Marina with its apartments overlooking the beautiful yachts and nearby beaches sheltered by cliffs with golden rocks are the other big attractions.
