Property wish list

Now that you have decided to invest in Portugal, you should identify and prioritize the features you are looking for in your property. You can do this by preparing a wish list before you start searching. Your wish list should prioritize between what is essential and what is preferable. You probably won’t get all your wishes in your new home, but you stand a better chance of getting most of them if you have prepared a list.

Here are some of the things you should consider when you prepare your property wish list:

Area

Seafront, town, resort or countryside.

Type of property

Villa, townhouse, apartment, plot of land, commercial.

Condition

Age, repair/renovation required, redecoration.

Size

Number of bedrooms, bathrooms / toilets, reception rooms. dining room, kitchen, utility room, study, garage, garden.

Location

Busy or quiet road. South facing. Proximity to the beach, golf, shops, pubs / restaurants. Is the view important?

Other features

En-suite bathroom, central heating, fitted kitchen, double glazing, shower, bath, fitted wardrobes, timber floors, swimming pool.
