Property description:
| The house is a country property in the Algarve, Portugal. The owners bought a ruin and fell in love with the land with its shady and mature trees and rocks. It is still a haven for birds, rabbits, frogs, toads, lizards etc. The birds include hoopoos and woodpeckers and spring is heralded by the return of swallows and cuckoos. The land incorporates old one-man quarry workings. The rocks are the reddish Breccia Dorada marble which is only found in the several old pits a few kilometers north of Tavira. This takes a fine polish and rivals any other marble in beauty.
The house was built on the site of the ruin, especially for the owners and it is a unique property, it is very spacious with four bedrooms and a guest house and if you like BIG, it is right for you. Probably its main feature is the degree of seclusion and privacy, meaning that noise from late night parties and swimming bothers no-one! It is all set in 26,000 sq m of land and with a large garage and attached areas and a storehouse. The buildings total around 1000 sq m plus over 250 sq m of roofed areas without side walls around the land which can be used to store agricultural equipment or house animals. There is also a solar heated 20m freeform swimming pool. Although built in 1991 much modernization has been undertaken to incorporate the latest in features and materials including double glazing to the whole of the main house, air-conditioning throughout and a heat pump providing 20Kw capacity for winter heating and solar panels and a heat pump for hot water.
